Sony Did It Again: PS5 Pro Won’t Be Sold Anywhere Else for a While!

Ana sayfa / News

Sony, one of the most talked-about tech and console giants in the world, has made yet another controversial decision. The announcement of the PlayStation 5 Pro, which was bombarded with dislikes on YouTube and heavily criticized by gamers, has sparked a new debate with this latest move.

According to a new announcement from Sony, pre-orders for the PS5 Pro, starting on September 26, will only be available through Sony’s own sales platform, PS Direct, for a limited time. This will apply to countries where PS Direct operates, and other retailers will be excluded until October 10.

Starting on October 10, retailers like Amazon will be able to offer their own pre-order stock for sale.

This exclusive pre-order opportunity will be available in countries such as the US, UK, Germany, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg. In countries where PS Direct is not available, consumers will be able to pre-order directly from local retailers starting on September 26, without any waiting period.

Sony says 40-50 games will be optimized for PS5 Pro

Sony representatives indicated that between 40-50 games will be specifically optimized for the PS5 Pro at launch.

Sony’s move seems to be part of a strategy to direct customers to its own sales platform. However, concerns about potential stock shortages during the pre-order period have left users worried. Another possibility is that Sony wants to gauge interest in the console firsthand.

Whatever the reason, the Japanese tech giant seems to be moving away from the approach that gamers know and love. We’ll see how this process unfolds. Feel free to share your thoughts with us!
